UPDATE: Man Suspected of Shooting St. Louis Officer in the Face Has Been Killed in Shootout


A man suspected of shooting a St. Louis police officer on Sunday night was shot and killed in a shootout with police early Monday morning, according to a St. Louis Dispatch news report.

The suspect was wanted for questioning in the shooting of a St. Louis police sergeant. The sergeant, a 20-year police veteran was shot twice in the face, when a vehicle pulled up alongside his police SUV and opened fire at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2106.

Police were looking for the suspect and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle believed to be driven by the man.  The suspect then bailed the vehicle around 12:45 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016.

During the foot pursuit which followed, the suspect began shooting at officers—and he was shot and killed when police returned fire. Continue Reading
